lynxParticipantStrange.usually port 2 is kinda standard on c64.some multifunctional joysticks could block the keyboard when connected to port 1.
I didnt took a look at your loader, but
Please take a look at codebase ffd5Most c64 users benefit from loading with FFD5,due their speeders

– the standard Joystick Port is Port #2 . in Local Mode you can choose between Port 1 and 2 – in Network mode the Port is fixed to 1.. Should be selectable or fixed to Port 2
– when the race begins,and you drive over the yellow line for the first time,the lapcounter increase. Should be Zero
